Use Witch Hazel to treat Hemmorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids are a concern for many people in the world today. However, the affliction has long been known to people and there are many wonderful home remedies and all natural solutions to this problem. These vary with the local area, and by cultural preference, but one type of treatment has consistently been used for its soothing effect on this painful affliction.

Another common and simple hemorrhoid home remedy is the application of ice and heat to shrink the hemorrhoid and encourage it to heal. Apply ice, such as a single ice cube, to the hemorrhoid or the anal area, for at 10 minutes every day. Then apply a moist, warm towel to the anal area for up to 20 minutes. This is best done after an aggravating bowel movement that has caused pain or irritation to the hemorrhoid.

Stool softeners are usually used to prevent hard stools which can cause more pressure on the internal hemorrhoid. There are many types of stool softeners available. The most common are suppositories that are inserted directly into the anus. They usually have an immediate effect and are given within good proximity of a toilet. Oral suppositories are usually taken to help in regulating the digestive system and to help prevent constipation

A cold compress in some situations will also help treat the discomfort that hemorrhoids causes. Cold compression therapy generally requires applying a cold pad or ice pack to the inflicted area for twenty minutes every two hours. Cold compression has been shown to reduce the swelling caused by hemorrhoids and will help speed up the recovery process.

Colon hydrotherapy (or colonic irrigation) is a natural solution to hemorrhoids. With colon hydrotherapy, warm and cold water are used in an alternating fashion in order to relax and then constrict the vessels. Because hemorrhoids are characterized by poor circulation, this process is used to get the blood flowing once again so that circulation returns to normal.

Bleeding internal hemorrhoids can be removed with surgery, your doctor can help you decide if you need to have them taken out by cutting, or laser or even with a cauterizing procedure.
It may be that surgery will not be needed and one of the other treatments will serve just as well. There are chemical treatments avaliable that will shrink the bleeding internal hemorrhoid. There is also a treatment where a rubber band is placed on the base of the hemorrhoid that will cut off the blood supply and shrink the hemorrhoid.
