Why Vote?

Martin Math Magic

Taxes are increasing, services are decreasing, bureaucracy is somewhat remiss, and if challenged refer us to our politicians. Nevertheless, unemployment is almost double that of the USA. Tax rates are almost double that of the USA. The Canadian dollar hovers between 65-75% of the American dollar. Hundreds of street people are mainly youth. Others displaced by job loss, injury and illness rely on shrinking social services, a fertilizer of poverty in one of the richest countries in the world.

Fickle Foxes

It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that increasing barriers to enable disabled persons to benefit is not helpful, not legal, and down right mean spirited. No, it takes a highly educated, well paid bureaucrat, to narrowly interpret the law in such a way that some disabled persons are not only treated differently than others, but that they require appeals process that include supreme court directions to get some, but not all, bureaucrats to obey the law.

Peoples Party Politics

The Canadian dilemma is not lack of a means of change, but the will as individuals to use the means. Instead, individuals forego their character and power, to emerge as a voter of convenience, relying on a party system to control the means of social change. The economic restraints and cutbacks that decrease instead of maintain or increase essential social services like health care and education, are indicators of social decline. Any and all votes to return a sitting party to parliament dismantle all that is social.

New Appeals Process

Obviously government and bureaucracy are entangled in means of marginal economic and social returns. The first thing that can be done is to vote differently. A different vote means to vote for anyone, any party, but the existing member of government or party. Not because they are any more or less responsible, responsable, or capable, but for the simple reason of change until the party can get the job done right. Another way this concept can be expressed is through Political Demand Theory.
